Our Initiatives

On our march towards perfection, we keep on initiating new programmes and policies for the perfect functioning of our schools. We are keen in maintaining the accuracy of the functioning of each school under our management. We initiate many programmes in schools to bridge the gap between how students learn and how they live.

We try to create our schools smart with well trained teachers and confident and successful students.

Annual Gathering:

We have an annual staff gathering held in February at Leo X111 School auditorium, where the whole management will be honoured by the presence of eminent personalities, who will inspire us with a motivational speech. The gathering will also be a stage to host the giving away of the Best School, Best Teacher in each section awards.

For the past many years this was helpful in connecting the whole management by bridging the gap between authority, students and teachers.

Awards and Honours:

The dedicated works of teachers and schools are given due respect by giving them awards and honours every year. Every year we have a PowerPoint presentation competition, where each school is supposed to show their annual report and achievements and an exam is held for students of classes four and seven to check the performance of schools and thus the best school is decided. Teachers from each section will be chosen for the Best Teacher award on analysing their works.

We also publish a souvenir every year comprising the annual achievements and report. The releasing of the souvenir will be held in the annual gathering. Prizes for the School magazine competition will be given during the same.

Co-curricular Activities:

Science, Arts and Sports other than textual learning are given importance in our system of education. We hold science fest, Arts fest and Sports fest alternatively every year, along with the presence of famous persons in respective fields.

Science fest begun in 2010 and the ‘Balashastra Congress’ held in Arthunkal brought good changes in students approach to these subjects. We were honoured to have the presence of Dr. G Madhavan Nair from ISRO. Exhibitions, Quiz competitions, essay writing, Elocution etc are the competitions held for students.

Arts fest and Sports using the model of government youth festivals and Sports meet is held and prizes given. All these are done as a preparation for further competitions held by government at Sub-district, revenue and state levels. This allowed our students to be more confident and successful.

Special Programmes for Students and Teachers:

Students are given various types of trainings in academic field by the management. At the Centre of Excellence in TTI Arthunkal selected students are given training for National Talent Search Examination. Residential programmes on all weekends with special training by experts are given to them. Top Ten Students programme is for the best students of each school to improve their efficiency. They also hold a leadership programme with best teams. We were fortunate to have the presence of Toastmasters in our programme in the past year. The road show held by these leaders last year was a showstopper.

We do not just care for the talented; instead we do keep in mind the students who need extra care. ThePrecious Children Programme aims at giving special care and attention to the weak students in all subjects. The triumph of this programme was found in the 100% results we achieved.

Teachers are also given special training programmes regularly. Prayer days, counselling for teachers and students have succeeded in giving our students’ moral growth and our campuses a heavenly nature. Some among the programmes held in previous years are listed below:

Many of the regions in our diocese were hardly stricken by Tsunami. With the initiative of the Theresian Carmelite Sisters shalom group was formed to give financial aid to the proficient students in the coastal region. The amount deposited in bank is only given to the students for educational needs. They are usually given during the combined meetings held for students and parents twice a year.
